Marie Hudson

I first encountered yoga in the early 1980s while training as a classical ballet dancer in New York.  Although my entrance into the world of yoga was through the door marked ‘physical’ I realised, when I became a mother of four, that yoga provided—and continues to provide—the necessary energy, focus and clarity I need to support a busy family life.

I have trained in the Viniyoga approach since 1997, first in group classes and then on a one-to-one basis with Jenny Bullough and more recently with Mike Young.  Following completion of the four-year Association for Yoga Studies practitioner programme with Paul Harvey, I completed the two-year Centre for Yoga Studies Further Studies course, also with Paul.  Recently, I have trained to teach antenatal yoga with Gail Charlton (also of AYS and Beautiful Birth and Beyond), which is very special for me, as becoming a mother in many ways was the motivation for making yoga part of my daily life. I also attend chanting sessions with Mike to explore the use of sound in yoga.  Learning is a process that never ends!

I teach individuals and group classes at my home studio just outside of Presteigne, in Stapleton and at the Bracken Trust in Llandrindod Wells. My own practice continues to be a vital support and a positive presence in my life.
